Six Town Housing are launching a weekly Job Club in the centre of Bury for tenants seeking employment support.
These sessions will be held at 6 Knowsley Place between 10:30am and 12pm for all tenants and residents who live in the 8,000 homes STH manage on behalf of Bury Council. Attendees will be provided with support and advice on employment opportunities, job applications, contacting employers, job searching and tailoring CVs or cover letters.
Staff from STH’s tenant employment programme Steps To Success are able to provide attendees with tailored support, looking at their individual aims and aspirations to help them develop an action plan to achieve their goals.
Steps To Success aims to engage more tenants in positive activities, encourage them to utilise their skills and experience, help them become more connected to their communities and develop their confidence as a foundation towards achieving personal growth and happiness.
Adam Warbrick, Steps to Success Project Advisor said, “Our team aims to support Six Town Housing tenants into employment, education, training and apprenticeships. Whether you’re a young person who is feeling isolated and wants to engage with community activities, retired and want to get involved in volunteering within your community or your unemployed and need work or qualifications – the team can help you with the right steps to achieve your success.”
